Jean Harlow died of renal failure on June 7, 1937 at the young age of 26, just eleven days after this promo shot was taken. “Saratoga” was still being filmed when Harlow died and was completed using stand-ins. The movie was released July 23, 1937, forty-six days after Harlow’s death. “Saratoga” was MGM’s biggest moneymaker of 1937.
